High School

At Discovery School, our high school program is designed to empower students with the skills, knowledge, and experiences they need to succeed in a rapidly evolving world. With a commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and College and Career Readiness, our high school curriculum provides a dynamic and challenging educational experience.

In the secondary years, we embrace Project Based Learning (PBL), enabling students to engage in research, explore concepts, work collaboratively in teams, and apply their knowledge to real-world scenarios. This approach fosters critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a deeper understanding of the subjects.

Technology is seamlessly integrated into every high school classroom, enhancing the learning experience and preparing students for the digital landscape of the future.

Discovery School proudly offers the Advanced Placement Program, providing students with a college-level academic experience that challenges and inspires. This program not only aligns with the Common Core Standards but also ensures that students are well-prepared for the demands of college and beyond.

Upon graduation, students have the option to receive one of three diplomas:

  1. Diploma en Bachillerato Internacional en Ciencias y Humanidades: This diploma is recognized by the Honduran Ministry of Education and signifies a comprehensive education in the sciences and humanities.

  2. High School Diploma: This diploma validates the successful completion of the international high school program requirements.

  3. Advanced Placement International Diploma (APID): The APID is a globally recognized certificate awarded to students demonstrating exceptional achievement across various disciplines. This certificate, while not a substitute for a high school diploma, showcases outstanding academic excellence with a global perspective, opening doors to international opportunities.

At Discovery School, our high school program is not just about academic achievement; it's about preparing students for a future where they can make meaningful contributions to their communities and the world at large.
